The yearbook researches popular music cultures from the past and the present. A prominent part play questions of cultural history, the history of mentality and the history of media, like the relationship of music and song to politics, religion and education. This volume deals with the popular music theatre, and the articles go from the beginnings of the beat-music and the further- and re-use of certain musical and pop songs to original-cast-recordings and the modern music theatre and musical theatre. The journal contains articles in English and German.
